Pashupatinath, or Pashupati, is the most essential Hindu temple in Kathmandu Town, the capital of Nepal. Located on the banking companies of the Bagmati River some three kilometers from the middle of city, Pashupatinath is devoted to Hindu God Shiva, or rather is a single of his manifestations. As some 85% of Nepal's inhabitants is Hindu, Pashupatinath is deemed to be the protector or patron deity of Nepal.
