For all those individuals who want to make home improvements which will make their house bigger there are several different things they can consider. One is having an extension, the second is converting the garage or attic place into a room or rooms and the third is having a conservatory. Conservatories enable a whole lot of light to come to the house as well as providing warmth throughout the year. Many people can also be considering an orangery, but what is the main difference between orangeries and conservatories?

Well the answer is quite easy in that it is really just an orangery that is set by the roof apart from a conservatory. The framework, foundation and glazed window panels are just about the same as on a conservatory but the roof appears to be quite different. The roof on an orangery is considerably smaller and does not generally peak for the whole roof area -- rather a flat roof is installed around the edges and then a smaller peaked roof is installed in the centre of the roof area.

The benefits of having an orangery rather than a conservatory is that it reduces the quantity of glass and translucent material and hence might provide better insulation. This might mean that an orangery is really a much better option for a space that can be used throughout every season since it may be warmer in the winter months than a conservatory. However it may be best to consult a specialist conservatories in Surrey company who are able to guide you on which would best suit your needs.

Traditionally orangeries were first used in the 16th century when European aristocrats would gather citrus trees - - orangeries provided the perfect climate for these fruit trees to develop in the colder climates. When orange trees began to be imported from Italy in the 17th century the thought of the orangery really took off as it provided a method for keen gardeners to protect their trees from the brutal winters.

It does seem to do have more of a feeling of magnificence than the usual conservatory which might explain why they are becoming so popular again - - and never to cultivate now to fruit trees once you step in a orangery! The Benefits Of Using A Double Glazing Company - Assembleia Geral Constituinte
