To review our last phase, the Lincoln Cent has encountered many changes. From the VDB initials dispute, structure changes and slow changes very nearly 50 years back (from Wheat to Memorial). The flexible cent has seen its share of changes.

Just what exactly does the near future hold for the Lincoln penny? Legislation was recently passed authorized an array of cash changes. The cent was included by one of those changes. The Lincoln dollar Title III to the Presidential Dollar Coin Act demands the reduction of the Lincoln Memorial reverse to be replaced with four different patterns showing the life span of Lincoln. In the writing of what the law states the brand new reverses are referred to as (A) his early childhood and birth in Kentucky; (B) his formative years in Indiana; (D) his professional life in Illinois; and (D) is presidency, in Washington D.C. These changes seems in 2009.

Furthermore to these circulating styles, the regulation also states, The Secretary of the Treasury should issue 1-cent coins last year with as the 1-cent coin within 1909 in such number since the Secretary determines to be befitting numismatic purposes the correct metallic material. Will this be considered a style or perhaps a wheat penny? Who knows? It'll be considered a coin struck as proof or uncirculated as non-circulating legal tender.

In 2010 and beyond, the regulation states, The style on the reverse of the 1-cent coins issued after December 31st, 2009 will keep an image symbolic of President Lincoln's preservation of the Untied States of America as an individual and united country. This could be an unspecified design or could revert back once again to the Lincoln Memorial. Since this is a long period away, number decision on this seems to be immanent. One problem that does seem to be solved is that the dollar will remain developed despite some requires its discontinuance. Many feel the dollar is no longer of use and should fade just like the penny. We can see. advertiser
