The International Women's Day is an occasion celebrated every year for almost a hundred years, in many countries of the world. It is an opportunity to denounce violence against women and persistent inequalities at work in the domestic sphere. Established by March 8 1910, International Conference of Socialist Women held in Copenhagen, and then claimed the right to vote for all, the International Women's Day is indeed expressing the struggles of women against violence, inequalities, injustice. Violence against women and girls is not declining, whatever the continent, country and culture. In Europe, the scourge of violence affects 20-25% of women. If the number of women on the labor market in 2006 reached a record $ 1.2 billion of the 2.9 billion workers in the world, women are more likely to be unemployed than men, are confined to very productive jobs and are paid less. In European countries, the wage gap between men and women is 15% and women remain a small minority in decision-making positions. So the day of women has various echoes in the world, beyond the debates it raises. March 8, is International Women's Day, a day like no other, dedicated to all women in the world. It is a day that celebrates the struggle for equality, justice, dignity and a day of consideration of the extraordinary combat for salvation of ordinary women. It is a day that brings up the good progress which any woman can be proud of, to realize that anything is possible when people are mobilized, especially a good opportunity to send a confession to all women in general and especially those like you.
